I also realize that the loud concussion is part of the ceremony. I just got a chuckle trying to imagine the logic knot they would create trying to explain why they though that was a bad idea.

Maybe they will make up a new thing like the jazz hands instead of clapping. Maybe some kind of hand boom motion?

I never understood using jazz hands instead of clapping. It's great for deaf people but kind of leaves the blind people out...............

PG was closed for students, but the offices were all up and running.

And I don't believe for a minute that UVA's decision had anything to do with the noise disrupting classes.
