300 Blackout

Anyone have a go-to 300 Blackout load I can use as a starting point? There are plenty on the web, but actually too many to narrow down.

Looking for a cheap Supersonic Range/plinking load and a good Sub-sonic load using a heavy bullet.

Thanks.

Hodgdon has a great on-line data center.

Plug in bullet weight, plug in powder, and the calculator does the rest.

Super easy.

PS: H110 is a great 300BLK powder. Smells good too.

Thanks. I should prob clarify. I have plenty of books / resources. Was looking for a general starting point. With so many weight choices, it’s hard to narrow down. Is the 110 and 125 grains optimum for range work or are guys shooting 150s to plink with. I plan on working up a 220 grain sub load, but have seen many other options listed. What’s popular? Thanks again.

each gun has it's sweet spot, what might be great in one
could give results of taking a shotgun to the target, group
sizes, what works for me, may not work for the masses.
My load is fine in firearm, but may result in over pressure
in yours, just a thought, work up whether "Ladder / OCW"
H110 is a good powder that covers a range of bullets.

Try 19 grains of H110 with 110 gr varmageddons

I’ve also had great results from Speer 125 TNTs. 18 gr of H110 is what I’ve landed on for that one.

As always, work your way up at a published starter load and find out what works for your rifle safely

16.5 H110 and any 150 grain bullet works fine in a 1 in 8 twist barrel. Just make sure to use 300BO mags or Lancer mags to prevent feeding problems.
17.5 4227 also works with my 150 grain NOE cast bullets.

147gr surplus M80 projectiles can be had for cheap and use the same charge. It is my go-to plinking load.
10.0gr of H110 with coated 220gr Leatherheads works as a good subsonic starting load as well.

Iím tossing 150ís with H110 or Win296. Same 16.5gr load for either. Depending on which is cheap and available. And when I say 150ís, I mean any cheap bullet between 145 and 155 grains.

I mean the same thing. In fact, I pulled some .310 bullets from 7.62x54 Mosin Nagant ammo from some poor surplus that I had. I dropped the load down to 14.5 H110 and they gave me four inch groups at 100 yards with my red dot. It was a bi$*h pulling almost 800 of those duds.
