Form 1 CLEO Copy - What do they Do With It?

Just curious, what does the CLEO do with the Form 1 CLEO copy? Do they keep it on file? Has anyone ever been contacted by their local CLEO?

I spoke with my local Sheriff several years ago and they run a background check and if everything checks, file it.

They don’t do a background check anymore (well, they’re not required to)
You only have to inform them, you don’t need their approval

Agreed - they don’t have to.. My local Sheriff does and thinks its mandatory...
