A good friend of mine is looking to purchase my Ruger AR 556 Model #8511, which is a MD compliant HBAR. As far as I know, it is considered an unregulated firearm in the state of Maryland, given it is an HBAR, and HB0004 (the long gun transfer bill) has been vetoed. I am under the assumption that I am able to legally sell this firearm in a face-to-face transaction as of July 2020. I would still obtain a bill of sale. Am I correct or is there something I am missing?

    Thanks

You’re good to go as described. The only thing I would recommend is that you also have the buyer sign a statement that he is not a prohibited person.

As long as he is a MD resident and not a prohibited person, face to face is legal.
