It's almost that time, on Friday the 15th America's 9/11 Ride will once again take thousands of riders on a three day police escorted tribute ride to all three crash sites of the attacks on 9/11/2001. This year is also the 15th anniversary of the tragic events of 9/11 when our country was sucker punched by radical Islamic terrorists.

Sadly, it will also be the LAST ride. People forget, others don't want to be bothered to deal with the logistics of such a large ride passing through their jurisdictions.

I'll be riding with Welder516 and a few others from around here, meeting up with my uncle and his group from Georgia in Cumberland on Thursday.

I'll be posting up pics as they occur, here are a few from rides past.

Getting gear packed, checking tire pressures, etc.. Seems like the list never ends.

My uncle is spending the night in Greer, SC after having timing issues with his Victory. He's hoping he can get out of there early tomorrow and either still meet us in Somerset or at least Arlington on Friday night. Bummer.

He sent his group on so we are still meeting a bunch of people I don't know, yet, tomorrow for lunch in Cumberland.

That many bikes really do hold up traffic. Not quite as much as the BLM thugs holding it up for hours at a time, but look at the good BLM does.:sad20:

I don't disagree, but this event is broadcast on the overhead signs around NoVa days before so alternate travel routes can be planned.

On the tenth anniversary ride in 2011 they limited the number of riders and passengers to the number that perished on 9/11. Turned out to be ~2300 bikes and 700 passengers. MSP had a helicopter in the air when we were in western MD and they said that the line of bikes stretched 13 miles.

This year they did not limit the number of participants.....
