I have found that AR's are picky with the shape and length of the rounds they like. I have tried Lee 160gn FN and they didn't work out. Mine have no problems with the 160 Lee SP or the NOE 155gn SP though.

Guess I'll find out one way or the other. Right now, I've got 500 of these things and would like to see if they're usable before I pass them off.

The InlineFab ERGO roller lever is a game changer for my old hands. Had I realized how much pain the stock handle caused me I would have purchased this thing day one. I’m up to 400 rounds this sitting and no pain at all.

I have been thinking of one of those for my Dillon. I have the round ball and I have wondered if the roller handle would make that much of a difference.

I have 2 Dillon 550’s. One is set for large primers and has the roller handle. One is set up for small primers and still has the round ball handle. When sizing stuff that takes a lot of handle pressure to size, the roller handle is more comfy.

Past two days finished loading another 100 45ACP FMJ. Have another 50 primed cases ready to load tomorrow.
One thing I both like and dislike about my Dillon is the time - once the press is set, it takes about 12-15 minutes to do 100 rounds. However, the flip side of that is that it completely demolishes any aspect of meticulousness in reloading.

Tumbled my 1400 or so 223/5.56 cases after trimming them all. I need to sort and run the crimped brass through my primer pocket swager. THEN it'll finally all be ready to load up. I am planning on working up some RMR 69gr loads. See how my ARs like it to see about ordering some more bullets

I'm working up loads of 38 special with a ton of green dot I have and learning how to use my new charge master. Hope to find a plinking load that my sp101 and Henry Golden boy rifle both like to bang steel and coke cans.

Just finished packing up the last of my reloading equipment in preparation for moving out of MD. I’m happy and sad at the same time. Happy to get out from behind the iron curtain. Sad to have to pack up my reloading room and shop. Especially sad since most of my stuff will be in storage for a year or so.

The local shop in KS where I’m headed has had a decent selection of powder and a fair selection of bullets on the shelves for the last year. Unfortunately, their primers cost both the left and right nut. :sad20: I’ve been spending about half my time out there for the last 2 years.

I also put together some 300AAC supers with 150gr flat point bullets and 14gr of Lil Gun. These have a super short OAL (1.8"!!!), but are not all that far off what Hornady uses for their RN loads (1.9"). Powder charge is mid-range, and GRTools shows considerable head room (about 70% of pmax), so I am going in fairly sure my gun isn't going to explode in my hands when I pull the trigger. Still, it will be interesting to see function+feeding when shooting for real.
I forgot that I never posted the results of this experiment.

They worked fine. No rifles were harmed, and no pressures signs were exhibited. Cycled the gun, and fed correctly from Lancer 300AAC mags. Still not thrilled with the compromises I had to make to get them functional, so will sell the remainder of the bullets on here or Discord or whatever and stick with FMJs for the time being.

This project did lead me through some interesting research on why 30-30 bullets don't work all that great in 300AAC - namely that 30-30 has a much longer neck, and unlike 308, you don't have a whole lot more case to stuff the bottom of the bullet into. And if you can't load those deep, you're going to get the body of the bullet smashing into the rifling when you try to chamber the cartridge. Really has given me a lot of insight into cartridge and bullet design that I didn't have before, which was probably worth the price of admission all on its own.
