But if I catch the brass, I don't get to hear Yogi yell when my hot brass goes down the back of his shirt!

That's half the fun of going to the range.

Nice work guthook, it looks a little complicated for the grove though.

Yes, I have a few of them. They work great. They are fully adjustable, so work with any gun, so long as you have the rail space.

Does having this hanging off of your gun make it more difficult to handle? It is not like you have a brick hanging there, but it is definitely not directly above the center of gravity.

No, it's light enough that you don't notice it, even when you get some brass in it. The velcro strap brass catcher version flops around quite a bit when it's full, but this one doesn't.

I like the big stand idea. Will work great outdoors, could also be used to block the person next to you from spewing hot brass at me.
I think I will rig something together using PVC like my target stand.
I'll have to think a little bit to make it fold up.

I'm thinking over a similar idea to put on the bench. But with nylon window screen mesh, velcro and PVC. I think maybe not bonding the uprights into the base, just inserting the pipes. Hmmm...

Need to drink about it some more.
