I saw one at a gun show a few months ago, Howard County Fairgrounds, I think, that was going for something like $600. It took a lot of self control to walk away from that sweet looking piece of history.

Could you see the bore or if the Stock was refinished?
I saw one at a shop last year and thought the same.
I have some dedicated funds for something original and antique and the stuff at that website looks intriguing. Especially if the bore is nice.
My problem on these is I am not entirely confident I can spot problems. At least when I shop at reputable places like that website or simpsonsLtd you know the reputation of who you are buying from.
My first one I bought at the Baltimore Antique Gun Show, shooter grade for 500 bucks, second one I bought is a very nice ramrod bayonet model that has very little use, pristine bore, selected that one off Al's Trapdoor web site and he brought it to the Baltimore Antique show for me to look at and purchase.
The show this year is March 18th and 19th, if you want a Trapdoor wait and go to the show, you will have your choice of 100 or more Trapdoors, one year I was there a seller had a table of Trapdoors, must have been 100 Trapdoors on that table alone.
I"m just curious, are these fair prices for what those trapdoors sell for?

I picked up a Trapdoor from Albert on Sunday
Mint bore. In great shape.
My buddy also picked one up with slightly more wear to it.
