Thanks for the replies. Wow, so this is normal, it seems. I feel it's a major design flaw. I just don't like the obstruction...

With both eyes open, it really doesn't bother me at all. I could certainly be wrong, but it seems like any micro red dot design I've seen has this emitter obstruction. Not all are that large.

If I have any qualms at all, it's whether I could depend on it after rough usage, where I know an Aimpoint will hold. Its price point indicates likely no.

But if you don't like it, resell it and spend more for what you want.

I run it on my M11/9 SMG. No problems. It is rather infamous for holding up better than it has any right to. IMHO, it is basically the only reflex sight worth buying at the < $100 price point.

Normal. All of mine have that, and I’ve got half a dozen of them. Only issue I ever had was battery contacts not making enough pressure to stay on the battery. Easy fix. Very good little affordable red dot sight.

A .830 riser block gets you absolutely perfect co-witness with irons btw.

Mine is about 3 years old and all of the sudden it got real dark, to the point that I can't see anything with sunglasses on. Not the red dots, the entire view.

I don't know if it is the glass tinting, the led or the rheostat but something causes them to loose brightness over time. I have 5 of them and only one is good enough to use in bright daylight now. The others are maybe half as bright when in the number 11 position.
