The bug has bit me ordered 3 in the last month. Last one is a smooth side so I can play around with stippling. Midway has them on sale for $75

Good deal, now I want to order another one. Between this and the 30% off plus free LPK at 21 Sports Tactical, I’m trying to figure out which makes more sense. 21 Sports is about $33 more, but I don’t think you can buy a LPK for $33.

Run like hell from 21 sports. They absolutely suck. They are a couple guys selling out of their basement. I preordered a SS80 and some other stuff. I ended up having to file a dispute with my CC company. I never received a thing from them, including the stuff that they said was in stock.

Thanks for the heads up. Was this recently? It appears they have changed ownership somewhat recently and the latest reviews seem positive. They did call me twice to make sure I knew they were closed until the 2nd and wouldn’t ship the stuff I ordered until after that. Between PayPal and the deal I got, I’ll give them a chance.

I believe it was last spring when the SS80 was released. Many calls, many emails. I finally got a response when I threatened to lodge a dispute. They ultimately told me to go ahead and file the dispute. After a couple of months dealing with them and trying to get either product or a refund, I was done.

Anyone in here have an 80% lower jig they would be willing to lend or rent out? A friend and I are looking to finish some AR9 lowers.

As for the poly 80 pistols, I built a PF940C. I'm interested in their PF940SC and the new PF45 they've been advertising. A 30SF replica would be nice too!

The guy called me right after I ordered. He wanted to make sure I understood it was a PRE order since they were inundated with calls previously when they took pre orders of the SS80 (or SC) and many thinking it was in stock.

Don't think they're a shoddy operation now. Why would they bother to instantly call and explain everything to me? I guess time will tell.....

Does anyone know if a channel liner tool can be obtained locally in Southern MD/PG county? I've ordered one but it's taking a bit longer than anticipated to ship...

Yea, they called me too back then. I knew it was a preorder. That still doesn't not explain why they would not ship the in stock items or why they would blow me off for weeks on end. I only got a response after threatening the disputes. It was 2 separate orders. Tell me why after the SS80 was available, I was able to order it from the Glock store and get it while still waiting for 21 sports. I think they had some falling out with them....

I just found some emails. Timeline:
    Orders place 1/24 and 4/18
1 may- asked for in stock items to be shipped again. No reply
Between 1 May and 19 may, I called and emailed numerous times. No reply
19 May. I emailed asking for a refund and told them I would call the CC companies on the 22 if I had not gotten a reply.
19 May, got a snarky response saying they would refund the money and it would take 7 to 10 days. Also they gave me crap for demanding a reply.
12 June, no refund yet. I emailed them and got another response telling me to go ahead and file the dispute. I would get my money quicker.
A couple days later, my money was refunded by the CC company after I filed the disputes.
The emails were signed by A. Wright and R Massey

I would be curious to see if they indeed have changed. Let us know if they got turned around and you get your items. Good luck.

If careful, a pencil, eraser end can make the install happen

Yeah I read that or a bic pen with the ink portion removed. I put one in that way and it took a lot of effort and I'm not sure if I damaged the end of the liner. The gun functions fine but I'm going to remove that one and put a new one in once I get access to the tool. I have to fix that one and install 2 more. Then I need to somehow get my bank to decline any attempted future p80 purchases!

So...I've been thinking about sticking my toe in these waters :tap: I figure, if the legislature wants it back, I only have to turn in the hunk of plastic and can have a whole bunch of spare parts for my Glock, right?

My question (so far) is: what's the deal with these Zev slides? They look freakin' awesome, but...$$$...damn:shocked2: Does all that money buy any functional benefit over a Glock or Swenson? Don't get my wrong, I hope I'll probably buy one someday (just because they look freakin' awesome:o)...but it's going to take a lot of saving up.:sad20:

I got my slide here and am very happy. The caveat is they have really tight tolerances and are ceracoated. I had to add a smidge of lapping compound to the rails and rack the slide a hundred times or so, then remove the lapping compound. To me, the hour's extra work was worth the hundreds I saved. They do a lot of their business on eBay, but their website gives more options.

So I decided to stamp a serial number on the metal plate with the Harbor Freight 1/8 inch stamp set. Mostly to differentiate mine from a nearly identical build a friend is making.

I practiced for about an hour stamping a steel plate meant for joining 2x4s until I got the result I wanted. I used a steel vice body as a metal backing for the stamping. My Serial No was going to be xxxN02. I taped a Craftsman socket under the frame S/N plate to provide a solid base and started stamping middle out with the N. The N was barely visible. I moved on to the zero and struck that multiple times and somehow managed to strike a bunch of 0's offset a bit vertically - Argh! I continued to the 2 and struck it a few times and it was perfect. I went back to overstrike the N and the metal dented in with a barely detectable N. I then gave up with these stamps.

Bottom line: The PFC940C metal doesn't handle stamping with a punch well. For me, it does give me a unique frame, so in that way it worked out. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend the hammer and punch SerNo route.

the best deal right now seems to be the brownells slides. They have them on sale right now for 160 with a 20 dollar gift card included. With the gift card and a 15 dollar off coupon the effective cost was $126
