    Hello Folks,

My brother has inherited some firearms. The guns are located in the peoples paradise of Maryland, and he is a resident of Canada. He has completed all the required steps to register the guns in Canada. The inheritance includes long arms as well as some pistols. The question I have is how do I ship them up to Canada. I looked on line, and the dept of state handles all guns EXCEPT shotguns, they are done thru dept of commerce. All I could find seemed to be aimed at exporting production of guns, not transferring some privately owned stuff. Any of our industry partners have any ideas? I do know that you have to ship into Canada w/ an "approved carrier" but that seems to include UPS and Fed ex....The shipment (s) would include copies of his paperwork and copies of the death cetificate... Help Me Mister Wizard!!!

Have your brother find a dealer in Canada that will accept the firearms for him.

Take the firearms to a dealer here in MD and have them ship them to the dealer in Canada.

Pay whatever transfer fee(s) the local dealers require to complete the transaction.
