2A MD blames who?

This email from 2A MD was in my mailbox this morning.

Of particular interest to me was this portion from John H. Jocelyn of 2A MD.on the attempt by Sen Madeleno'to abolish the HPRB

Why is he blaming "activists"? Why not identify them if casting blame?

How does he know what the goal was?

Is this not a public meeting?

This stinks IMO. Now we're eating our own?

Put the blame where it belongs.

Just saw this as well.

I wonder if John realizes that he sounds EXACTLY like Jim Purtilo.

This is what Purtilo had to say about MDS and MSI 10 years ago:

Quote:
Splinter groups – they always get louder as they get smaller – seek confrontation instead of results. They stalk efforts of mainstream gun groups that otherwise work with one another with respect and a sense of shared mission. (In 2005 we saw how some yahoos would even cheer the killing of a pro-gun bill rather than risk it advancing without them in charge. Bad enough we fight gun grabbers, but the task is more difficult for having to ensure that advocacy plans do not needlessly expose us to attack from behind.)

You know, if sitting quietly in an HPRB meeting observing the process of government is "intimidation", I plead guilty.

IMO, "activist" attendees have done more to change the direction of HPRB decisions than any other group, bar none.

Madeleno is upset that the "activist" citizens are now having a say and changing the way the old guard methods of permit issuance can be changed.

Is there some professional jealousy involved here?

Still some sour grapes out there.?

Stay classy folks. sheesh

I'll say it. FVCK JOHN JOCELYN!

This is EXACTLY what is wrong with the old guard 2A supposed leaders in this state. Instead of calling out Madaleno for being the gun grabbing douche canoe that he is he would rather blame those of us who are trying to advance the cause of freedom?

Go away, John, you're yesterday's news. And take that goofy NRA rep who posts pics of her kids at the MOMS Demanding Action table at the local fair on social media with you.

He's reacting to Madaleno's "Thoughts and prayers aren't enough." email (attached) that says that the HPRB has been "stocked with 2nd Amendment radicals".

John is old school when it comes to dealing with the MD GA, but as a defensive position that hasn't gotten us much headway. He probably sees activism as 'poking the bear' and he's not comfortable with that, preferring to work behind the scenes. What he doesn't realize is that you can do both and be even more effective. Good Cop/Bad Cop, or Playing your position ... name your analogy, it comes down to communication and knowing that we both have the same goals in mind.

If John thinks that 2A radicals are his enemy, he needs to read Sun Tzu, The Art of War.

There's a lot of AGC members here. Just saying that given the news in the rest of the newsletter about the restructuring of the legislative part of AGC, perhaps it would be prudent to be very active in that process.

The HPRB could never survive acting on behalf of citizens—rather than our overlords—because anti-gun groups were going to focus on what Hogan “gun board” appointees did NO MATTER WHAT.

Besides, the HPRB puts about as many permits in circulation in a year as a Shall Issue state like Virginia issues in a DAY. It was not where our issues were really being dealt with anyway.

“Activism” is so much more valuable in the long run than than begging for Permit crumbs from the
Infringer Machine and the choke-out bottleneck set up decades ago to service only well-connected DemocRats.

Activism is how people like Madelino become political road kill along with the Commie BS they spout.

The Wrenn decision in DC is a result of activism too. Activism is what will force the MD’s racist May Issue scheme into the Final Countdown.

Cue the music, John.

John did a lot for AGC in the past but his methods reflect the older leadership of Maryland's gun groups of "get along to get along". They never wanted to use strong tactics against the GA for fear of retaliation.

I guess they forgot their history on how that game didn't work in 1776 and that is how we got here in the first place.

Their time is past, now is the time for the Patriot Pickets.

If blaming activists publicly is working "behind the scenes" I'm a bit skeptical of the tactic.

10-4. Sounds like he's still butt-hurt over the public reporting of how a certain board member, who works in the 2A trade, routinely sided with MSP against citizens who appealed to the board for justice. To be fair, there was some harassment on social media of that individual.

I am confident that if most (if not all) of the cases originally heard when she and maybe one or two other board members were just getting their feet wet on the board, that the outcomes today would be completely different. It's a whole new world today, and freedom, combined with honoring the 2A seems to frighten the little pussy-hatted folks.

And did you notice us we are being criticized in a “blast email”?

This probably has flip-phones ringing all over MD.

Oh, no wait...

Do any AGC members know if trustee meetings are open to AGC members?

Quote:
Associated Gun Clubs of Baltimore Poised to Eliminate the Office of Legislative Vice President

Proposed Associated Gun Clubs of Baltimore Bylaw Revision:

The Old Post Rifle & Pistol Club offered a motion to amend the AGC Bylaws regarding the position of Legislative Vice President. The Old Post motion will likely receive a final vote at the November AGC Trustee meeting on November 7th.
If that committee is enacted, it would be time for every MDS/MSI activist to begin the process of being appointed to that committee.

To be fair, I construe the message not directed to those at the meeting "sitting quietly". The new board, it is up for speculation how they'd be ruling w/o "activists", so it is really a catch 22 anyway. I think the point is the anti's probably would never even be aware of the HPRB before it became well advertised.

Well we see how "the old way" worked. Screw that.

Perhaps someone is a poor wordsmith and needs to work on structure and composition of email blasts that go statewide..

If this makes me an activist, I wear that label proudly with my other 2A brothers and sisters.

That’s naive in The Facebook Era.
