New Member Lifelong MDer

Hey Guys,

Little about myself, lifelong hunter and outdoorsman and have been getting more into guns for protection and sport lately. If you guys have any suggestions or can point me into some directions around the forum much appreciated.

I would like to (in-time) become proficient with pistol and rifle defense techniques. I have 85% of the parts to assemble my first build, an AR-15 chambered in 5.56 that I keep going back and forth with the handguard on.

I am also looking for a source of PMAG 30rd build kits online.

I have a lot or mechanic/electric/welding/fab/etc background and I am considering an entry into gunsmithing however without a mentor and with the economy I am not sure of any openings.

Lots of topics but I figured it would be better then starting 4 new Threads?

Welcome
It might help to give a general location.
Also ordering parts for the 10+ round magazines is legal but, it would be illegal to assemble them in Maryland. You would have to assemble them out of state and bring them back to be in compliance with the law. With that said it would be easier and cheaper to just go out of state and buy the magazines.

You have options.

Need it now: Take the approx 1 hour trip north to Cabelas in DE. But 30 40 60 round mags and bring them back. You are breaking NO LAWS.

Can wait a bit: Go to the next gun show in PA or VA (see the gun show thread) , and pick up mags there. You will likely get a better price. Again no laws will be broken.

I recommend Industry Partner High Rock Outfitters in Hanover, PA.

Not that much farther than Cabelas; Gary (hogsniper) is a great guy, and yo can go to Famous Hot Weiner and/or Tecas Hot Weiner for lunch.
