So, now that I’ve already jumped on getting a type 56 barreled receiver, anyone know anything about parts interchangeability with SKS? I am looking at it as a project build. I know that some things like bayonets and muzzle devices may not interchange. To be clear I mean across all SKS. So would a Yugo or a Russian BCG drop in to a type 56?

What about things like BCGs, FCGs, gas tubes, etc.?

I already have a nice type 56 in stock form. This one is like to build in a bit of a DMR (as much as an SKS can be one). So synthetic or laminated stock, scout scope, etc.

Parts of the same nationality will generally interchange but almost always require some amount of hand fitting. I do not recommend exchanging parts among nationalities. Can you bubba it to work? Probably. Should you? No.
