Heard someone say it's getting infested with something and the only way to "clean" it is to drain the whole damn thing? That's like 60 miles of shoreline.

, several years ago there was an infestation of zebra mussels at a scuba diving quarry in Haymarket, VA and the state used some sort of chemical solution to kill them. The lake was not drained but it was closed for over a year if my memory serves me. Of course, the diving quarry is nowhere near the size of Deep Creek so maybe different solutions would apply.
