Just finished resizing/depriving 180 pieces of hornady 6.5 brass. Game plan is to trim to 1.915 tomorrow then throw them in the tumblr. Then start loading up a range of charges of IMR-4451 Friday night. All that followed by chrono/group load development Saturday morning :)

Cool what projectile are you going to use?

Also is that a drawing of a countertop on your legal pad?

I guess that would be pertinent information haha, I'm loading up Hornady 140 gr 6.5 ELD match bullets. Yes! I'm slowing designing a new counter and cabinets for my gun room. Currently i have a table and cheap racking.

My 1894 Krag bolt closes on a field gage. But it won't close on a field gage with a single layer (.003 inches) of blue painter's tape applied to the bolt face. That would make the chamber about .001 to .002 too long.

So I tried neck sizing for the first time. Since all I'm reading says that's the best fix for slightly out of spec head space.

It's a neat little trick. They chambered fine. And the fire formed cases solve the head space issue.

I've been using 140g Nosler Custom Competition because I couldnt find ELD's anywhere.

If you weren't so far I offer to give you some free laminate sheets for your countertop. I've got tons of scrap in my shop.

Yea I took awhile to find them but I eventually did from a mom and pop type company. I appreciate that, I probably won't start on that project until next winter though. To many pressing projects now

Seems like a good time to reload about 300 9mm to take my mind off a crappy day at work.

I started a new storage bin for a new caliber. A buddy has a .50 AE and I was able to chalk it off the bucket list. I snagged dies for 50 AE for him a while back, but now he is giving me brass to store for him. For some reason, he want to load the 50 AE on my Dillon...

    9mm

Loaded some 9mm for the first time. I thought I would never load 9mm since it looked like the price for 9mm was coming down and it didn't make sense to invest in the dies because I don't shoot enough to make it worthwhile. However, my new 1911 9mm recommends 124gn ammo and that is usually harder to find and more expensive than 115 gn. I bought a set of dies from a member here for $30 and Cabalas had 124g bullets for $21 for 250. I enjoy reloading on my Lee Turret Press so now I have another caliber to play with.

Even if the price is coming down, just think that you will be making match quality ammunition tailored to your firearm. You can't buy that for 18 cents a round. Enjoy your new dies!

I figured about 14 cents a round. 9 cents for the bullet, 4 cents for the primer and about 1 cent for the powder. Recycling my brass. I got a pound of Bullseye for $20.00.

What Did j8064 Do On His Reloading Bench Today?

    Boolits! Lots of them...

One thing good I've learned about casting CB's from smelted "free" wheel weights and range lead is you don't remember the smell and work when you fire off the rounds at the range.

    That's what makes it worthwhile.

Nice!! That's a lotta fun waiting right there!!
I have smelted a bunch, so that smell is long gone from my memory, but the casting brings back frequent odors of beeswax.. it's not too bad... lol

Made a bunch of 8mm Lebel Revolver (8x27mm, not 8x50mm) brass out of Starline .32-20 brass. I've done it before but had time to make more today. If anyone has a French Mle. 1892 Revolver they'd like to shoot and don't know how to make the ammo, I'd be happy to post a more detailed how-to-do on it

I started planning and purchasing items for my new casting bench. It's going to be just inside a back room of my garage that has a nice double door. I'm going to build a bench that allows me a roll out tool box underneath for storage. Going to use some sheet aluminum on the bench top. I might build it enclosed (4-5' wide) with adjustable sliding plexiglass shield. Getting a range hood to mount over it for extreme ventilation to outdoors. The product: Cast Boolits!

First 100 .40s&w loaded for my USPSA Limited G35. 180grn Blue Bullet over 4.0grns Titegroup. Gonna confirm they make power factor this weekend before loading the 3k or so I'll need for the rest of the season. I had loaded 10 with 4.7grns of titegroup a few weeks ago, but when chronoed they were WAY to hot(like 190 powerfactor). Hoping 4.0grns isnt too light.
Oh, and Im running S&B primers currently.
