Pretty ironic given that the city elected Marion "bitch set me up" Barry several times.

I read the story on this and find it appalling that these DC Police would leave their jurisdiction and try to get his sister to show the guns to them. I also find it quite ridiculous that a local LEO would accompany them the next day for the same reason. I'm sorry, but what the hell happened to the 4th amendment?! They would have been turned around and quick! Then the plea offer!? Gould for him for standing on principle. Brown coat henchman!

Exactly what is unusual about that? This story is being covered with a lot of facts skewed. They were investigating a restraining order based on an allegation of a threat with a handgun which is pretty serious. The guy admitted he had a gun, but said he had not stored it in DC. They check his DC house and find a holster for a handgun (evidence he owns one somewhere) and a box of 40 cal (a crime in itself as well as evidence he owns a gun). If this happened in NYC and sister where he said he had his gun was in NJ, detectives from NYC would visit NJ and attempt to look at the gun to see if it matched the alleged gun threat victim description of it.

They would try and get a look voluntary and if not get a warrant for the home in NJ and go there the second time this time with NJ police.

This case is full of unfairness against the accused but it is not so strange as it seems from news stories that leave out half the facts.

Pls educate me on a criminal subpoena and why his sister living in Va, was issued one.

The problem is the reporter working on this doesn't seem to have any background or experience with criminal cases.

The sister was issued a subpoena in a criminal case. What is unusual at all about that?
