Pretty cool, I hadn't seen that. M1 rifles are awesome. My great uncle carried one in Italy. My father trained on one in the 60s. I own a nice 1942 Winchester M1, a very precious gun.

Yes they are already going through them and selling them.
Was there in May and they had boxes opened up and piecing complete rifles together.

While there are some gems found every once in a while, most of them need a lot of work, some just torn down for parts.

Most of them were getting new stocks at a minimum

Of course. They will sell all of those rifles.

At least those they offer for sale and are actually functional.

They said with the Greek returns, sometimes they would open up a crate and it would be pristine unissued postwar M1s, and sometimes it was just a pile of M1 receivers that had been in a fire.

They paid roughly $62 per garand to bring them over. That doesnt include the re-armoring of them.

Yeah - my IHC has the original receiver and bolt; but the stock is new, and the rest of the parts are a mix master of old/new stock, including a SA barrel from the 40's.

Even so - I really like the rifle and it shoots well.

My H&R I am pretty sure was one of the Filipino ones. New stock, 56SA barrel, 53 H&R receiver. The rest of the parts look like they match up to the 53H&R receiver. So probably just a shot out barrel and bad wood. No pitting of the metal
