I'm trying to find a side mount rail that will fit onto an ak master mount but I'am not sure which one to go with because I heard there is a difference between the ak master mount and a standard ak side mount. I just want to avoid the hassle of buying one finding out it doesn't work and having to return it and try another one. I currently have the master mount on an Arsenal 5.56 AK

Which generation master mount do you have? I know that the latest gen at least is compatible with any standard rail. I don't see why earlier versions wouldn't be.

The two AK optics rails that I trust the most personally are:

RS Regulate (my favorite but expensive)
Midwest Industries (less expensive, very good, not as many options as the RSR for centering over bore properly).

I agree that the MI and RS Regulate mounts are the go-tos. Where RS Regulate is really worth the money is when you need to get something like a prism optic like an ACOG all the way down as close to the dust cover as it can go. I think the MI mount does a good enough job with something you can mount on low rings.
