I have never used Blue Dot in 10mm, but I probably burned 10 lbs of the stuff in .44 magnum. Blue Dot has been around for a long time, I can remember loading it when it still said Hercules on the powder can, it was designed primarily as a magnum shotshell powder that also had pistol applications. BD can get squirrelly on you with pressure spikes as you begin to approach max loads, so watch carefully for signs of excess pressure if you're trying Blue Dot to get max or near max velocities. I never found BD to be "flashy" but I never shot it out of an auto pistol. Power Pistol has a reputation for producing the fireballs you speak of, it's an excellent powder for .40 so I imagine it would do well in 10mm also.

    Here's a picture of a Bluedot fireball.

A handgun is easier to carry than a long gun. There's your point.

It's also about the reloading intricacies, challenges, dangers and achievements.

In a brief scan he has no interest in the topic, having never made a post in the Reloading Section.

Why have we bothered to take offense at this, I'll never know. Seemed like a troll-ish thing, so maybe that got under my skin.

And I thought I did crazy stuff at the bench!
Please, for your own safety, don't approach
the max powder load unless you are in a controlled
environment and are working your way up to it.
Use the COAL to adjust your velocity. at some
point it just maxes out and throwing more powder
in the case won't necessarily help.
