We went to Green Top today. Sure looked fully stocked. We loved the place. Will saw some chassis guns and got a look at a lot of the others mentioned here.

I almost bought an antique Marlin 32 Rimfire.

    Thanks for the recommendation.

This Savage is a killer deal, and I'm tempted myself, even though I can't afford it.

The adjustment for LOP for a Ruger chassis gun we saw yesterday was a bit clunky/hard to get adjusted. The cheek rest adjustment was easier to use.

Is this an indication of the quality of the gun?

You’re talking about the Ruger Precision Rifle, correct? No it’s not an indication of quality. They are fantastic guns, I have one in .308 and one of the rimfire versions in .22 LR.
The original stocks aren’t the best but plenty of people have no issues with them.
I didn’t have a problem with it staying locked, I just didn’t find it particularly comfortable. Best thing to replace it with would be a Magpul PRS stock or a Luth AR stock if you wanted to go that route.
My .308 RPR shoots about 3/4 MOA with 175 gr. FGMM ammo. I’ve taken it out to 1200 yards.
