Encase it in brick then find a friend who can weld 1/4 steel plate around it. Make it so the side plates can attach in a L bracket fashion and overlap the plate onto the face. You can make a cheaper safe now more fire retardant and extremely difficult to gain entry. Build a small storage room around it and you will make it comberson to ever get tools Inside except a torch. You want to make it so difficult to get into that it is not worth their time. The brick works as an insulator against fire and at the same time makes it so the steel won't flex. 500-600 bucks more if you hop materials on Craigslist and you will have one badass setup.
