I'm not normally a 1911 guy, though I do have a Sistema. But I'd grab Joe's 45 in a heartbeat, if I had the chance. (BTW, I have no chance). Everything about it just grabs me; can't really explain why.

During COVID-19, I've had a hankering for 1911s for some reason. Shopped for a Colt Gold Cup for a bit, and couldn't find one (more recently has been easier). Decided at some point to get a Colt Combat Commander and enjoyed shooting it at the range. This led to my second Commander sized 1911, the Dan Wesson Vigil, a lighter, aluminum framed gun. Going to change the grips. Also have an OWB holster on order from Tucker Gunleather. :)

Thanks, Gentlemen. The first 1911 that I actually shot was StantonCree's. After that, I thought that I better start stocking 45 ACP. They're such pleasant shooters. Now I'm 4 into them, and know that I'll be shopping for a Gold Cup in 2021 (the Colt bluing on them is magnificent).

Checked out the S&W 1911 PD Gunsite Edition. Great looking Commander sized 1911.

You forgot to mention that the 1911 is a American a apple pie. 45ACP is also one of those must have calibers. If you like a 1911, wait till you shoot a HK45 Tactical. You'll fall in love all over again.

I got my slab side bald STI slide in today. Going to have Glock slide cuts, and Glock sight cuts.

    Can’t wait to post mine.

Is there a range in the area that you're aware of which would have a selection of HK handguns to shoot? Never had one in my hand but damn does the HK45 and the USP appeal to me. Let alone the P7 but that's a pipe dream for me.
