I want to start shooting more USPSA matches and I'm thinking about becoming a USPSA member, so I can get classified. I was looking at the membership fees and I think I need some clarification. It says "The cost to become a new member of the USPSA is $25. In addition, you will pay $15 per match plus any additional fees applied by the hosting range facility."

Does this mean if I compete in a USPSA match I need to pay, say, a $25 entry fee to the clup, plus ANOTHER $15 because I'm a USPSA member for a total of $40?

No you just pay your membership fee ($25) to USPSA annually. When you shoot a match you pay the fee for the match that the club charges (usually $20 or $25). Part of that match fee is used by the club to pay your activity fees to USPSA headquarters. This also then allows the classifier stage shot at that match to count for your classification.

Thanks Jason. I was hoping that was the case. The USPSA wording could be clearer.

No problem. I hear ya. I run the Anne Arundel Fish & Game USPSA match with Matt Schwartz on the first Saturday of the month. We’re starting back up in April. Search AAPS on practiscore. Hope to see you down there!

I need to get back into it. Stopped years ago after the outdoor range at Charles County sportsman’s club crapped out. I remember it being lots of fun.

There's a pretty active club in St. Mary's and Fredericksburg, if those aren't too far.
