I would ensure you quote the state law and the law's code number, noting your desire to be compliant. Delivery receipt shows your compliance with the law. When ATF sends you a letter back saying they don't do this, I would then suggest you contact the lawsuit attorney and provide them a copy of that letter. I think, once ATF get a flood of these letters assuming that there is a large quantity of these devices they will contact the state.

The ATF doesn’t give a crap because as far as their concerned, binary triggers are perfectly legal

from 8/31/2018 like an hour after my initial email

Was it in reference to the MD statute?

    Good afternoon sir,

ATF's position regarding Maryland’s new law is posted on our public website in a Special Advisory issued by our Office of Public Affairs. I have included a hyperlink to the advisory for your convenience below.

    https://www.atf.gov/news/pr/maryland-law-restricting-rapid-fire-trigger-activators

I trust this advisory clarifies ATF’s authority, however please let us know if we can be of further assistance by contacting us at (202)648-7120 or FIPB@atf.gov.

Not quite the same as acknowledging receipt of an email that they originally had said was not under their purview.

I’m mailing mine just to have a record of it

How do you prove BATFE received an email ?

Only proof is a return receipt requested via snail mail

I sent the ATF an e-mail several months ago. Right after the bill was signed into law.

I'm certain the ATF received it. Because the e-mail didn't get kicked back as undeliverable. Printed a copy of the sent e-mail for my records. It has the ATF e-mail address on it. And the date sent.

The hard copy letter sent in today is just a redundancy. Two forms of proof that I did my best to comply with the law.

Just because it doesn’t bounce doesn’t mean it was received. I might buy a reply as proof but the lack of a response isn’t proof of anything.

    YMMV

May post doesn't speak to binary triggers. But they will be concern with Maryland ' s requirement on a Federal Agency.
