Mossberg 500C barrel bluing

Hey, I recived a 20 gage that spent 20 or so years wedged between a bed frame and a wall. Needless to say the barrel isn't in the best shape. The rust is pretty bad in some small spots, and I'm sure the Barrel is pitted. I need to get it striped, polished and blued.

Any tips, links, or advice?

Forget all that, just buy a new (or good condition used) barrel. I bought a rifled Moss 500 barrel off ebay.

yea mossberg parts are easy and "Cheap" to find and buy. Then you can get the barrel you want, aka Shortie, Long Ventilated etc.

I agree just get a new barrel. I had a 500A that I stripped and painted, turned out pretty good and cost me next to nothing.

Sweet, Mossburg will refinish a barrel for $35...

I would still kind of like to do it myself.

And this is the 18.5 inch Cruiser.... A quick search of the web didn't turn up one for sell, not even from Mossburg. I guess I could call them, but $100+ Vs. $35 for refinishing.

If it's only $35 for the refinish go for it.

That $100 for a new barrel sounds high. I think I only paid $60 for mine from Cabela's or Midway.
