What is the definition of "Rapid Firing"?

pew pew pew pew pew pew pew pew pew pew pew pew pew pew pew pew pew

    pew pew——pew pew—-pew pew——pew pew (Double Taps)

We do have some “operators” around here that only understand pew

I always picture ettique at these public places as slow fire deer rifle sight in.

You should probably find a farmer friend if you want to Instagram some negative lean one handed AK pistol action. Lol

The RSOs can definitely be a bit overzealous at Hap Baker. That in combination with their ridiculous "rapid fire" rule is what led me to get my AGC badge. However, rules are rules. You cant expect to (self-admittedly) break the rules multiple times and not be disciplined.

I agree with all of your comments. They have rules and they have authority. He just did not have to be a jack ass to us. And we did not shoot the connection or the line at the pistol range. I know for a fact (shooting pistol at Heritage mostly) we are better than that. They should have checked how the target is attached prior to opening the range.

I'll just say that RSO's have a difficult job sometimes. Having shot at Hap's on more than a few occasions, I've seen some fairly hairy things and been swept more than a few times on both the rifle and pistol ranges by other shooters with loaded firearms.

Public ranges have shooters with a very wide range of proficiency's and skills, and attract a lot of people who are first timers / inexperienced.

I enjoy being able to walk away from my range experience.

If the RSO's err on the side of caution...I'm more than OK with that. Especially when it gets busy.

We aren't trying to beat you up here, but you are looking at this all wrong. You aren't the victim here. He absolutely DID need to be a "jackass" to you because being reasonable with you didn't work multiple times. That's textbook discipline escalation. You need to take this as a learning experience, because that's all it is. A similar thing happened to me years ago; it's no biggie just learn from it and move on.

My range has rules , it has them to protect all members . I had to pass a test in order to get a range badge , we are our own range officers . Cameras are watching in case damage or mishaps or if someone sees you doing something wrong .

I like the rules , i can invite others to my range but they have to follow rules as i do . If i have someone with me i have to escort them if they have to use the restroom . In other words I have to stay with them , you know the rulles before you are a member .

At Hap Baker I had been relegated to "Bang" one thousand, two one thousand, "Bang" one thousand...
I decided to get an AGC range badge.

I was on the pistol range once waiting for my spot on the rifle range. Heard number called, so cleared the mag in a controlled quick manner. On my way to the rifle range, RSO met me half way and asked if I was the "Rambo cracking off shots". Just gave me a warning, but yeah, I now have an AGC badge. At time I was a little ticked thinking he didn't need to be an ass about it and could have just told me, but in hindsight, they probably have to enforce that rule 20 times a day. I can see how it would get old.

As a former RSO I will never return to that range. The one time I went the RSO showed his ass and ignorance. I was stopped for "rapid fire" 5 rounds in about 10 seconds and the guy next to me was removed because he was using a 30 round mag which according to the RSO was illegal...shooting should be fun. No one should be worried about heavy handed asshats that probably have no business as an RSO

As said above, this range gets all types. Some noobs, tactidouches, some real experienced shooters. The RSOs paint with a broad brush. That pisses off all of these types. Because they feel entitled to shoot how they want. They paid their money and want their fun.
I've had good experiences there. I've been told "hands off on cold range!" for picking up a empty mag. No biggie, my mistake. If peoples experience handling and shooting is "shooting at grandpa's ". Going to a real range can be an ego reality check.
Take it as a learning experience and move on.

Public ranges are to few and far between to risk having any of them closed because of "accidents". Always remember the antis are looking for any excuse to close any range they can.

Public ranges have to tailor the rules and enforcement to the lowest skilled dumb ass that may walk through the door and everyone has to comply because the RSO's can't waste time trying to explain that the guy three lanes over can do it but dumb ass can't because he is more skilled than you.

I have had only positive experiences at Hap Baker. The RSOs have always been friendly and professional while I was there and I have seen them deal with some real idiots on a couple of occasions. They are always willing to help new shooters and are generally quite forgiving but their primary focus must be safety. I do not mind the 2 second rule and have never had a problem using any 20 or 30 round magazine while there.

I do not care much for the rule which keeps me from loading my Mosin with more than one round but will take the bad with the good. I understand that some idiot blew his thumb off so all Mosin owners must now pay the penalty.

I have taken others with me a couple of times and everyone had a great time, felt safe during the day, and made plans to return. Membership is less than half of AGC's when other required memberships are factored in. It is a small facility so lines are a possibility on weekends. Hap Baker is a great little range, IMO.

I look at it as: their house, their range, their insurance, their rules.

    For better or worse yes.

Take your business elsewhere if their rules are over the top or otherwise too much to bear.

One trip to Continental and their RSO made sure I never went back again.

I only go to Hap Baker. Ive only been shooting a couple years and hey have always been great to me and my son. we have occasionally made some mis steps and they have been more than patient with us and have helped us get much better and more safety conscious. I appreciate all their help and would gladly take an ass chewing if warranted and come back for more. That's my experience with them.

I've always had good experiences at Hap Baker. The RSO's have been great to me and I've never seen them do anything that is objectionable. The range is always crowded though.

I've been going there few several years now and have seen a number of people thrown out. Every time the RSO was right and the individuals received several warnings. Saw one group of about 5 guys rapid firing and waving muzzles all over the place. Shooters like this wouldn't last 5 minutes on a military range. There, you're warned once and then you are done. No appeals.
The rules at Hap Baker are posted at the parking lot and at the range. Follow them and enjoy yourself and we can all go home safe
