Personally, I would have put the bases on so that the scope would have been farther forward, since there is nothing that will cause a flinch like getting an eye full of scope during recoil.My new vintage old school precision rifle, Pre 64 Model 70, new Sendero profile Shilen barrel in 220 Swift, stock refinished, pillar and glass bedded, trigger worked, all metal Ceracoated, will consistently shoot under 1/2" at 100 yards.
Love the look of the rifle though! The finish of the metal and the stock are excellent! The pre-'64 is one of my all time favorites. I used to have quite a collection.
