    Glock - HUGE support base for long term major and minor maintenace

    Full Size, 5" barrel - High capacity mags, long sight radus, good accuracy, full power from factroy ammo

    40 S&W - Good compromise between compact size of the 9mm and power of the 45ACP

    This = G35

    Having said all that, yes I do have G35, AND many other pistols (more then you can count on two hands) that do any number of things better then the G35. However, the G35 can do most (not all) of those thing in a servicable way.

    I would have said M&P or maybe some form of 1911...

    But, now that I am confronted with the possibility of having to completely redo my collection (expect a thread in the coming weeks, or maybe not if things fall through), I am thinking:

    Ruger GP100 4" stainless with hogue wooden grips. I've fallen for the glory that is the smooth DA pull on a fine revolver.

    An old discussion, but why not...

    Ruger Gp-100, .357mag. The weapon is simple, reliable and of course allows the use of any .38Special or .357mag ammo on the market. Accurate to enjoy range time, plenty effective for social work.

    I understand your choice, I have a GP-100 as well, and I also have a Marlin rifle in the same caliber but I might go with a .44mag revolver and lever gun combo.

    .44 Special ammo for "social" needs, a wide variety of magnum loads for hunting. The downside is the extra weight.

    A custom 1911 to my specs.

    I like my Beretta 92FS, but the CZ-75B is more accurate. That would be my #2.

    #3, I don't own it but the FNP-45 looks badass. It's on my "short" (as in NEXT) list.
