Thank you for your response.

Note that federal law bans access to any "unlawful user" -- not just an "habitual user."
Yes, I realized after I posted that I was thinking of the "habitual drunkard" phrase.

Good Lord, I have no idea. Some folks just hate pot.

The good news is people with these crazy attitudes towards it are dying off. I'll be glad when the Billions (with a "B") wasted on law enforcement can be... err..........uhh..... wasted on something else.

I think it's mainly inertia.

[QUOTE=Threeband;5570508]The way I see that relating to this case is that under Federal law she is now prohibited from having access to his, or any guns. But I can't imagine any Federal agency pursuing her over it, leastways as long as she doesn't make a habit of gloating about it on national radio./QUOTE]

Does the federal lay say "Own" or "Have Access to"? Access could be broadly construed as including walking into a gun shop.

IMHO, if the firearms are "OWNED" by the permitted husband (IE the result of a legal transfer of ownership from either a gun shop or from his wife) and they are secured in a manner so as not to be available to the wife without the husband present, a court or jury should be persuaded that the intent of the law was fulfilled. The devil is in demonstrating the wife did not have the combination (access) to the firearms. Remember, 2a is an INDIVIDUAL right. One's constitutional right should not be voided merely because of association with another person.

IANAL

Hugs, not drugs.

Campaign contributions and perks from the big pharma lobbyists to Congress critters. The only folks who benefit financially from keeping medical pot illegal are the folks whose prescription drugs would become less desirable compared to naturopathic remedies.

Chicken Dinner.

Also, am I wrong in thinking that Federally, since pot = heroin, if one is an "unlawful user" they (might) go to jail and lose many many rights? just a thought really, sorry if off topic OP.

Could you have your wife sign over all her firearms/ammo? Then get a steel gun cabinet and ammo cabinet. I would then put all firearms/ammo in them. You keep the only key. I personally, don't care about the use of medical cannabis, for medical reasons. Issued under a doctors care of course. I think cannabis use for personal consumption has a few issues, its not like alcohol. I'm also concerned about what will be next, people are already want stronger stuff to be made legal.
