For a build a Mega arms Maten is probably a good set of billet receivers to do this project. You could also convert an AR10.

    Build vs. Buy

Now the question is should I build or buy?

If you build it you will probably spend more but you will get exactly what you want. Also the AR10 platform isn't as easy as the AR15 as far as parts interchangeability. You will need to go with a DPMS/SR25 pattern or some type and make sure all the parts will fit.

If you buy exactly what you want from the beginning you might save money, but if you start swapping things out the price goes up and you get a box full of parts that you can't get rid of. My one box is already full.

A DPMS Oracle is running around $1000 right now. Rock river has AR10 in 6.5 that might be worth a look.

Doing a barrel swap on an AR10 might be cheap and easy, depending.
