I’ve never bought a suppressor before but I’m really thinking about it. I want the process to be as easy as possible and I am aware that some stores have their own kiosks to do the paperwork which means I don’t have to go anywhere else. Can anyone recommend a shop that has a good selection? Preferably in Central Maryland? Thank you

You can make the entire purchase online at Silencershop.com, and then when the workflow requires it, swing past a kiosk-having place like Engage in Rockville. The SS web site has a directory of all kiosk locations.

Make sure you check hours at the host store! A lot are running funny hours right now.

Would you believe in Great Britain, not only are they legal, but you can buy one cash and carry if you are licensed to own a rifle. That's pretty telling.

Yes, just about everywhere else you can buy it over-the-counter. It’s not like these things quiet the firearm down to nothing. I think a lot of these politicians watch too many movies where they think the suppressor is more like a whisper. This is actually a serious health issue as not having ear protection an unsuppressed rifle can damage your hearing.

I used a Silencer Shop Kiosk and it made the paper work and fingerprint submission process very easy. I purchased a suppressor online, paid for the tax stamp on SilencerShop.com with the appropriate dealer selected, and went to the dealer to complete the paper work and finger printing on the Silencer Shop Kiosk. The following day, Silencer Shop asked me to submit a passport style photograph.
