My Colt Blackpowder Series 1947 Walker model...

Congrats! And you are going to LOVE shooting it!

I can't blame 4570 anymore. I now must own my BP addiction myself. And there's just something about an 1847 Walker that keeps me coming back for more!

    :D

I believe the AGC requires loading stands for cap and ball revolvers.

I would hate to shoot one without a stand.

    Here's mine:

The stand up stand really provides that needed third hand when reloading. Make an outing with your BP revolver much more enjoyable.

A pair of LeMat 9-shot BP revolvers worked for JEB Stuart.

Hooligans keep the spirit alive but have not yet shot the center shotgun:

    My thread from last fall.

I took it out twice but the dear were stressed by xmas so nothing came about as my feeder is out in the open (No woods on my property)

Federal 350 bor lock and 100grain BH209 was my ticket.

At 50 yards, 50 grains was just as accurate and quiet. I just have no idea about how much expansion I'd get with 50grains.

If you do manage to get a shot off, keep a spare ramrod and loading tube in your stand.

Obtw, the minimum powder grains to hunt in MD is 60 grains.

Muzzleloading rifles or shotguns used for deer hunting must be at least .40 caliber in size and must use 60 grains of black powder or more (a black powder equivalent is acceptable) and propel one all-lead, lead alloy or copper soft-nosed or expanding bullet or ball at a single discharge.
