Couldn't ask for a better LEO job in the state imho.George Johnson is a friend of the family. Wish I could afford the pay cut.

She said she already applied. I know she is graduating from a police academy on Wednesday and is really nervous about finding a job.

Sounds like this might be a police certification class from Pennsylvania perhaps?
They won't hire her laterally into MD without 1. experience and 2. a MD compliance course.

All police training in MD is sponsored by an agency. When you graduate, you are working for that agency who hired you.

I think in MD at Anne Arundel Community college they have an "Academy" that certifies graduates to apply for lateral to the Sheriff Dept.

    "Oyster Police" :)

I think my top police jobs here in MD would be........

    DNR
Transportation Authority ( NOT at the airport ) lol
    MSP
    and State Fire Marshal.

I don't know a happy State Trooper right now, otherwise I'd agree with that list. I almost went to Transp. Authority right after 9-11, just couldn't handle the pay cut.

How high can the pay get. Its a big paycut for me. I would not mind this job, looks pretty cool.

If you are doing it for pay you will be disappointed.
Pay entirely depends on rank and years of service.

Not just for pay, but i would not want to get stuck making 40 a year for half of my career. I would be leaving a job making almost twice that before OT.

Either way, just finish my app and will drop it in the mail tomorrow.

Thanks for the posting Jim Sr.
