    You don’t need to involve an FFL, infact you might be able to SBR the HK then it’s no longer a pistol it just needs to be a 29” rifle. Check with an expert on the law! Might be the best $200 you spend.

    That's a good strategy. An eForm 1 is approved in about 30 Days. I've done it (actually 4 SBR's) and there is a lot of knowledge here on that process.
