Skinning a deer with some rope, a golf ball and a pickup truck. I gotta admit, I was skeptical. But the proof is in this video.

I have seen it done with a tennis ball and a baseball before also. I have never tried it though

The first time I saw it done, I couldn't believe it. I've since done this many times.

Far better than the video though IMO is if the deer is hanging at working height in the fork of a good solid tree. That way when it's skinned, you have gravity working in your favor. It's a piece of cake to cut your back straps, drop your quarters etc.

We use a similar approach while the deer is hanging, tennis ball in place of the golf ball. Instead of a truck we use an ATV, connect the electric winch to the tennis ball tie and pull the skin off. Works like a charm.

I’ve seen it done years ago with a rock the size of a tennis ball. Same theory. Never did it myself, probably won’t either. I never seem to have time anymore to do my own processing, but I found a great butcher for that.

I've been doing this for years. Truck, lawnmower, 4 wheeler, it all works. Now I have a more permanent setup with a winch but the concept remains the same

That method is also suitable for pulling the porch off your ex-wife's house ... or your own. (There are plenty of stout trees in the background ... and yet they chose a carport support post as the anchor ...)

Well, if things went in another direction, they would have another type of Youtube video to post. Either way, they win.
