I have a Vepr .308 that I would not hesitate to use on hogs. I also have a Winchester Model 71 that I would love to hog hunt with, but it's too damn nice to take into the woods, IMO (the .348 Winchester is a boomer for it's age).

    Thank you.
For hunting, I keep the Pachmayr(s) on it.
When I bought it, with the VH-8 barrel/shroud on it, the Pachmayr(s) put it over the weight limit for "Production Class" in IHMSA.
I have the factory walnut stocks tucked away.

    This revolver is REALLY accurate.
It went back to DW and had some 'tweaks' done to the chambers and they put a trigger job on it, that is out-of-this-world! (TWO pounds, single action.)

This DW is one of my small collection that will NEVER be sold.
