Thanks for doing this. I appreciate fellow Marylanders explaining gun laws and the false concepts out there. The only thing I hope does not happen is the Dems figure out the .308 AR10 rule and see it as a loop hole that needs to be closed.

I would go door to door and explain to my neighbors what happen {when/why the police were called) and what took place, and then thank each of them for increasing your business if they happen to have been the one that called. No need to admit you may or may not be the caller, but thank you. And if you would ever want a lesson in firearms knowledge, You would be please to teach them so that they could be better informed at whatever decision they choose to make after that.

    but great story!

    Sgt Preston here...

Thank you for pointing out to a reporter (and the State Legislators) that the AR10 will need to be added to the banned list during the Spring Legislative Session...

Walking around outside with an AR (in a Communist State) also just adds fuel to the Anti's fire...

What was the OTHER point of your interview..?

I disagree. You can hide, and act ashamed and guilty for being a gun owner if you want. But don't expect that from all of us. Would you rather it just be the antis talking to the reporters? That'll do us a lot of good.

Growing up we never thought twice about carrying a gun outside. If you were going hunting, you brought your gun outside and put it in the car.
For awhile my kids and I would sneak the guns out of the house and into the back of the truck quickly so no neighbors were frightened.
Now we sit on the deck and clean them. I don't have a problem with guns and if my neighbors do then they can come over and we can discuss things. :)

Glad this turned out peacefully and you got a good laugh out of it. Kudos to HoCoPD for handling it professionally. Thanks for going on air to point out the absurdity of the ban.

Quiet, don't mention the AR-10 and maybe the antigunners won't notice it while they go about their mission of banning every other type of firearm that exists. That way we will still have them because nobody but us knows they exist. Don't tell anyone about the AR-10 unless they give you the secret handshake and counter sign first.

Other views are always welcome here...

But there is no doubt, the Anti's will get all the good press...

And we'll still be the red necks...

Merry Land is NOT a Free State, it's heading toward being a Gun Free State...

Reminding the Legislature how many guns aren't covered by the new law, like the AR10, will ultimately get them added to the banned list...

We need to be more careful of what we say & to whom we say it...

No kidding. Look at the other active thread with a noob asking for a list of what's NOT banned. Nobody is taking the bait. Good on us.

When to be silent on this is definitely a touchy situation, and I do cringe a bit when I see people bringing attention to what is not banned. But the legislatures have to know already what they didn't capture - intended or not. Why not point out at this point their incompetence. I applaud anyone who stands up and speaks out for our rights, as long as they're not being belligerent or anything like that.

This whole incident should come as no surprise to any of us. Think back to the kid who bit a pop tart into the shape of a pistol. Not only did he get suspended, they even offered counseling to anyone who was traumatized by it. Look at how warped this society has become.

A hotel guest on the way to the pool walked past the meeting room door as one of our students returned from the restroom. The caught a glimpse of me holding a Blue training gun demonstrating the isocolies stance. They must have thought I was aming the gun at the other people in the room. They called 911 from a house phone in the pool room and hid there until police arrived.

I think justice would have been served if the police had located the individual cowering in the pool room and given him/her a choice:
    a) be cited with making a false 911 call; or
    b) take the training class

Think of it like a SERO: fix your bused equipment (perception) or pay a fine.

All Maryland gun stores should voluntarily close up permanently, otherwise somebody might see a scary black long gun on a store shelf. If the stores are closed and gun sales cease, then the grabbers won't be able to see what any free citizen can purchase legally. If they don't know, they won't think to ban. Come on guys, we've got to stay one step ahead of them!

Why? I would wait for the neighbors to come out and approach. The one that didn't bother to come by is the one who called the police. Keep them wondering why you didn't get arrested. Then do the I'm watching you hand sign.

+1. Seriously the reporter was "aghast" and you know damn sure he will construe it to scare the uninformed sheeple.

Was the interviewer a skinny male in his late thirties??? If so, he did one with me earlier this evening just after I closed the shop. Perhaps I should've declined as I was damned near brain dead after what I've been through the last few weeks.
No, 6' med build with beard. Matt Bush.

Sgt. our Ignorant Liberal Legislators will ban or pass a law against anything/everything they want CONTROL - regardless of what we do.

If we can educate MORE of the public - which is what I do - we may be able to recruit citizens that want to stand up for civil rights.
