Trop has a used one for $650. It's in pretty good condition overall but I didn't check the bore. It's it worth this kind of money? I feel like at $550 or less I would have walked out with it but the guys there said you can't find them and people generally want $650+.

I'm in the same boat as you but I have seen some pretty high asking prices. For a want not a need I couldn't do it. Especially when for 550 you can get a Sub2K

For around 100 more you could build a decent 9mm AR. They aren't the only awesome 9mm platform around anymore, your paying for bragging rights at six fiddy

Sadly that is a great price now a day's. I remember being at Atlantic Gun's in the 1990's and they had the new camp 45's for under 300 new. I thought to myself what do I need this for. Now they are impossible to find and the 800+ range. Like everyone else if I only knew.

The Marlin camp 9 and 45's are priced way over what they are worth. Essentially, they are scaled up Marlin model 60 rifles. They have lousy trigger pulls out of the box and a plastic buffer that breaks periodically and I don't know if they still sell them. Your money would be better spent on a 9mm AR upper or one of the other sub caliber rifles available today.

I'm telling you this from experience having owned two 45's and one Camp 9.

I have a S&W 625 performance center on layaway already so I was leary about jumping on the camp 9. Guess I finally used good sense for once. I really like the rifle for what it is but 650 seemed too high for a neat little plinker.

I bought one on a closeout sale from a chain store that is now out business for $250 plus tax, wish I had kept it now..:sad20:

They're finicky (failures to chamber and/or eject) if not kept clean, and I agree 100% that anyone considering a 9mm carbine should just go with the AR platform, you'll be way better off and happier in the long run.

I have a Camp 45 that I traded a bag of Winchester AA hulls for. :)

I had issues with FTF, but sent it back to Marlin and they did something, and it worked great. I haven't shot it probably 20 years.

Big Dogs had a minty 1 for sale for $450.00 2 weeks ago, it only lasted about 2 days.

With the camp rifles, check the polymer "buffer" stop. They used a cheap plastic/polymer piece to absorb the recoil of the bolt and it would really deteriorate and break into pieces.

Looking to send it to a good home?
