The current M9 and the OKC3S are made by Ontario Knife Company. Beyond design differences, I would hope quality is similar?

MidwayUSA has Phrobis M9s for around $109. They call them "grade 3" and claim they have some rust and scratches, but all the ones I've gotten look hardly used apart from some sheath wear. The Phrobis in my previous pic is one of their grade 3's.

One of the things that struck me the very first time I picked up an M7 was how good it felt in the hand. Some of that was probably balance, but the shape of the handle just seemed to have better ergonomics. So...an M9 with an M7 handle might be on to something.

Someone at m14forums had a similar thought. 1913 blade used instead. 1913 blade was salvaged from damaged bayonet, no collectible items were bubba'd .
