Well done. With the grips, the faded and worn bluing is really appealing.

Thanks! Those G10 Grips were one of the very first things I did to it.

It's funny, because I never really noticed the wear until you guys said something. It's mostly been a working tool for me. I never really thought much more about it.

    It's 100% au naturale.

This was my carry gun for many years. Uniformed Patrol, Plainclothes, SWAT, off-duty, and then later as a civilian EDC. I shot a variety of action pistol matches with it. It was only recently that it was moved to the safe in favor of other carry options. In fact, look closely and you will see the rounded end of the takedown pin is nice and polished! That's because it's my index point for my trigger finger.
This disturbs all the safe queen owners here. They're wondering how a pistol can still work while looking like that. LMAO

New Hogue grips. They're very comfy but something's missing...

I'm not fond of the wraparound grips but that doesn't change the fact that Deltas are awesome! If only Colt would produce a long slide model...it would sell well.

I'd like to get my hands on a set of the older-style Delta grips with wraparound checkering on the front. Not too fond of smooth frontstraps on pistols and a set of grips/grip tape is much easier than having a smith checker the frame.

I just sold a set of those to someone on the Colt Forum. I took them off a Delta I added wood stocks to and didn't need the wraparounds. Keep an eye on eBay...they show up pretty regularly.

Maybe the best way of finding the ones you want is to find an older Delta and buy it! :innocent0

You can also use skateboard tape or Pachmayr wrap-arounds like the Marines did for MEUSOC pistols:

Checkering a front strap is horrifically tedious, even on a mill. Definitely one of those things where the smith earns his money. Nothing beats the look of 20 LPI checkering though.

I just picked this up...Detonics Combat Master. Really nice pistol but heavy for its size as it's all stainless steel.

Congrats! I remember shooting a friend's back in the mid-80's and how impressively it performed with FMJ, JHP and even his lead reloads. Extremely accurate, too. I have no desire to know what you paid for it! :D

The price wasn't bad...several hundred dollars less than asking prices on Gunbrokers and Guns International...which shows that asking prices are inflated. It also came with several genuine Detonics magazines, extra barrels, recoil guide assemblies and a few other extra parts the are no longer available. I could sell the extra stuff and pretty much have very little invested in the pistol itself...but I'll hang on to all.

Sig Sauer 1911 Nightmare Carry edition.

Just got it back from Sig after having them install an ambidextrous safety for us south paws!

It's a great shooter and after 800+ rounds only 3 malfunctions. 1 FTF and 2 stove pipes.
