Just wondering what you guys use. Personally, I use pliers and pinch the barbs down.

For trout and other salmonids, barbless all thy way. You will actually lose fewer fish. Barbed for just about all other fish.
Catch & Release - No Barb, of course.
Keep & Eat - Barbs, nice and sharp

Catch and release for nearly all of the fish that I catch, so barbless is the way to go.

I should have added the question is for catch and release only. I don't think anyone would use barbless if they were planning on keeping the fish.
Smallmouth Bass fishing on the Potomac from Paw Paw to Little Orleans. Kept a few for the stringer but went barbless just to make it easier. By the time we pulled out at Little Orleans the next day, we had caught about 150 fish each. Got tired of reeling in the little SOB's
Even if you are catching trout to keep, I recommend barbless.
On the other hand, bass fishing with artificial lures, always barbed(and I never keep large mouths or small mouths).
I target mostly white perch and croaker and they can easily throw a hook with no barb. I haven't had any problems removing the hook and releasing the fish if it is too small additionally, I haven't had a fish swallow a hook in years.
