I’m considering moving on from my Remington 1100 Magnum. I fell in love with O/Us after shooting a few that belonged to friends. I only use a shotgun for occasional (maybe 3-4 times a year) trap shooting. I’ve read plenty of threads about looking for a used B gun and I’ve had my eyes out for a while, no luck yet. I’ve also been looking at The Frachi Instinct L (doesn’t hurt that this weekend at anglers they are $75 off plus a $200 gift card). Haven’t made any final decisions yet, but I do plan on getting rid of my Remington 1100 magnum to free up some funds towards whatever I’m getting. I can’t justify spending more so I’ll buy what I can afford and hope for the best results.

All that being said, what do you think is a fair price for trade in & outright sale of my Remington 1100. I’ve never sold any guns privately so I’m not really sure I feel completely comfortable going that route. But it is on the table. When I look at gunbroker prices seem all over the place. So just curious what you all think I could reasonably expect to get on trade in for this. I’ve attached pictures to show condition.

Selling is not that bad, some sellers request a Bill of Sale but not required. I’ve bought and sold many long guns from individuals.

Once you decide on a price let me know.

Private sale, it is a 350 to 5 hundred dollar gun depending on condition and if it has a choke tube barrel or not.
For most people the Magnum receiver hurts value as you don't need it to shoot 3" steel shot loads out of a new choke tube barrel, but it wont shoot lighter loads reliably.
As a trade in at a gun shop, 3 hundred at the most and probably closer to 2 hundred.
1100's are great guns by the way, better than a cheap over under...

I don't know the market value but these are not rare guns plus they're still produced. That tends to hurt resale...definitely try a private sale as you're likely to get raped by a dealer who has to resell it for a profit on the other end.

    Where they send me.
Shop will give you about 1/2 or less of what they plan to sell it for, you're better off selling it yourself or keeping it. It may sit at the shop for a year or more before it sells and they do have to pay people and keep the lights on.

I'd keep it. Use it for a backup or to shoot when it's raining.

I’ve considered this but with the magnum requiring heavier loads to function normally I just don’t see myself using it for the few times a year that I do shoot clays. Plus I have an old rem 870 if I ever really needed a backup.

So I did it. I got rid of the 1100. Anglers gun bash is today. I was given $425 for my 1100 magnum so I used that toward the purchase of a new Franchi O/U. I know, I know it’s no Baretta or Browning but I couldn’t find any of those used in my price range that looked of good quality. The fit/finish of the Franchi looks outstanding, although very tight out of the box. Hopefully I’ll get to break it in soon and get plenty of life out of it. Thanks to everyone that commented.

Good deal all around. That's a fair price for a magnum 1100 (less versatile), and Franchi provides a lot of value at their price point.

Shoot more often, you're super close to Shraders, Pintail Point and Hopkins!
