    Dear Friend,

I just voted against a controversial piece of legislation that the Annapolis machine forced through this session. On a vote of 78-61, the House of Delegates just passed a bill that unbelievably restricts our second amendment rights.

There is only one week until the end of the 2013 legislative session. Arrogant leaders pushed several controversial bills through the Legislature and the Governor is now poised to sign these bills into law.

MDPetitions.com serves you, but to do that needs your help in 2 specific ways.

    1. Fill out a brief survey here. Since you helped put questions on the ballot in the last 2 years, we want to know what issues are most important to you this year, so that we can tailor our message to best represent you. Let us know how you feel about issues such as the Referendum Suppression Bill, the Gun Restriction Bill, and the Bill that Implements Obamacare in Maryland

    Take the Survey
    2. Donate. We cannot petition any of these bills without your help. Please make an immediate donation to help us be the necessary check and balance on the Maryland Legislature.

You see, last year, MDPetitions.com partnered with a national organization who helped pay the necessary expenses to get bills to the ballot, including expenses for paper, printing, postage, and renting an office. They also helped pay for the cost of the website design and the internet. This year, we are lacking a national partner, capable of bearing these costs, but need to be ready to act as immediately as we can.

Please help us get ready for the next petition drive. Take the survey to let us know what is important to you.

Many people have also stepped up and responded to the call for action; however, we’re not where we need to be, financially, in order to give you a voice against the dangerous bills that have and will pass this session.

If you are with us and continue your support, you can help provide the necessary force to contain the unrestricted and out-of-control legislature in Annapolis.

MDPetitions.com does not have a financial powerhouse behind it, and we can only buy materials and send mailings with the money that we receive in donations.

With your donation, we will continue to be a force for good in Maryland, an indispensable barrier between every-day Marylanders and the political warmongering of the privileged, out-of-touch leadership. Without you and others like you on our side, MDPetitions.com would cease to exist.

Whether or not you can support this effort financially at this time, please make sure to take the survey. We need your input to know what actions MDPetitions.com should take this Spring.

I look forward to working with you in the future to help make Maryland into a state where our voice is heard.

    Sincerely,
    Neil

MDPetitions.com exists to enable Marylanders to have a say in their government and serves as the leader in Maryland's petitioning process. MDPetitions.com helped Marylander’s get enough signatures allow Marylanders to vote on the bill that would have given in-state college tuition benefits to illegal aliens, to vote on the same-sex marriage bill, and to vote on Maryland’s Gerrymandered Congressional Redistricting Map.

Got the survey; I don't think it's at all a good idea to put a basic right to a referendum. So the gun bill is out; some of the other stuff looks interesting, though.

Not so sure, the referendum gives us 1 1/2 years to get it together, that is this delays the enactment of the bill.
