Dear Tom,
I wanted to bring you up to date on the Governor's Firearms Safety Act bill. Today, after much debate in the Senate, SB281 passed with a 28-19 vote. If you would like to see the amendments that were offered and how the various Senators voted on the final bill, you can click on this link.
Senate Bill 281 Amendments and Votes
The crossfiled bill, HB294, will be heard tomorrow, March 1st, in the House Judiciary Committee. There is other gun legislation being heard as well. The committee will be meeting in the Joint Hearing Room in the Legislative Services building at 12 Noon.
Those of you who are opposed to this gun legislation are asked to rally in Annapolis tomorrow, March 1st. We ask you to stand peaceably and we encourage signs so that everyone knows why you are there, especially the press.
The link below will give you information on the bills that are being heard tomorrow in the Judiciary Committee. Also, if you are unable to attend tomorrow, there is a link given in this document as well so that you can listen to the proceedings on your computer.
