I got an ATI stock for my CA89 SBR this week, so I decided to take a long lunch and went to On Target. I put 250 rounds through it and for the first 50 rounds, everything fed flawlessly. I tried curved HK German mags as well as some old straight German HK mags. They all worked flawlessly.
I did have a total of 5 FTE's out of the ammo. Four boxes of Federal white box and one box of 124gr Hydrashoks that I had lying around. The FTE's all had a dented case. I know this is not uncommon with Coharie guns, but was actually expecting worse. Bolt gap is a tight .010". So I have a new extractor and spring coming to see if they take care of the issue.
I had picked up the CA89 cheap during the last run of guns that Coharie made. At least the last run under the Coharie name.
Oh and the ATI F sliding stock is rock solid. Locks up smoothly with no wobble at all. I like the look of the A3 stock but can't justify a $450 stock on a $900 gun.
