Yea and shipping is damn near the cost of the book.

Yoinks! That's crazy... Don't remember it being that high.
But, I ordered mine a while back.

Looks like they've got a promotion currently, that gives you free shipping on "qualifying" orders of $25, if that helps.

(Still paying close to the same price as just the book plus shipping, but at least this would give you another item or two, to offset the expense)

I would pm him. he was considering selling and getting 22 conversion.

Thanks Batt. I still have it and haven’t listed it yet. The .22LR conversion I ordered was the wrong one so I had to send it back. Of course then I thought hey, maybe I should stick this on a G19 lower and keep it! You can’t let good parts go to waste, right?

Do all Glocks have a plastic guide rod? Seems really flimsy for such an important part.

I'm not sure about "all" but lots of them do. We're supposed to call it polymer, not plastic, so I guess they improved the stuff. Seems to work okay.

All Glocks OEM guide rods are polymer and there are 3rd parties offering SS and tungsten ones as well.

    Glock costs

Or to make it easier, bare slide, barrel, recoil spring-guide rod assembly and a slide parts kit.

So, what is a ball park cost of all parts needed to complete the G19 build if you already have the frame? Trying to compare build cost vs purchasing assembled one. Thanks

I've built a 19 with some small parts custom internals for a little under the cost of a new one but had to look for deals and specials at Midway, Brownell's and Ebay. Otherwise expect no savings to build one but that wasn't my desire.
