    Yes outdoor ranges are prefered. But for huge percentage of population only have access to indoor.

    If I were range operator , requiring use of leadfree ammo would make it exponentially easier on me. As a shooter , it would suck to not be able to use my handloads , or testfire SD ammo.

    Most ranges have adaquate systems when only a few people shoot , slow fire. With every lane in use , with rapid fire , it's getting smokey, at least for a while.

    It never hurts to wear an OHSA aproved mask.

    Yeah, it's a big deal. My great-uncle shot competitively at Camp Perry for years, practiced about 3 days a week at his local indoor range, and rolled his own rounds. Ended up getting throat cancer and a tracheotomy as a result. He still shoots, but now he uses an outdoor range and wears gloves when he reloads.

    Out of curiosity, did he smoke or use chewing tobacco?

    I reload BUT simply use copper plated lead bullets...

    I have had excellent success using Berry's plated bullets... www.berrysmfg.com

    As a person that spends a good bit of time in and around firing ranges, and is still a trap monkey. My Lead and Zinc levels are well with in the limits. This coming from my personal Dr. and Occupational Health people from where I work. I get the black boogies every once in a while too, but that is from my primary job, not from the Trap Monkey job.

    As a side note smoking and chew are not the only ways. Wash your hands before you eat, or put your hands near your face.
