2.65 Largmouth, Lake Needwood. Looked like it had Roe.

    Nice
Is needwood the one that had the signs up about the toxic algae last year? Is that still a thing?

Out perch fishing with shaddydan and ran into this guy. We also found plenty of perch, crappie, some more bass, one very cold little sunfish, and Dan caught a striper.

Did you get that from one of the creeks off Bush river by rt 40 bridge?

I'm surprised in the color, that cold of water they would generally be a more whitish color

I've been wanting to fish Liberty Reservoir. No boat, just bank fishing - I often see cars parked on the shoulder of 26 and assume they're fishing. What do I need to know?

Thanks for the reply its later date info i have been looking for. the later dates show this "See the online guide for season, size and creel info." and i cant find it..

I'll check when I get home tonight to see if it's in the printed version, but I think they sometimes don't decide the keeper sizes until closer to when the season opens.

The printed book says the same thing. I would keep an eye on the website as it gets closer to opening day.

The seasons are a bit confusing. Trophy season starts April 15 - May 15 and then the summer/fall season, runs May 16 - Dec. 20, but it also says "open year round in the Atlantic Ocean and Maryland’s coastal bays and tributaries" with different size limits.

Doesn't Striped bass fishing in the Atlantic Ocean and Maryland’s coastal bays and tributaries include all of the Chesapeake bay?

Anyway....got 4 new Penns rigged for Rock and a couple new Umbrella and Tandem rigs. Gonna try a new rig called the "Billy Buster"(pictured). My cousin makes them and just gave me a couple. We'll see how they do.

DNR puts out rockfish maps on their website that show the go/no-go zones at different times. I find them much easier to interpret than the written regs.
