Narrowed it down to either the Colt AR6721 $900 or the Windham R16A4T HBAR $670.

Which one and why? Any experiences with either?

    Thx - mike

If you have the money to buy the Colt, buy the Windham and use the difference for ammo, mags and other equipment.

Windham is a solid rifle. If you are buying one with an A2 front sight , pay attention to the front sight post. I don't think they are "F" posts.

Take a quarter. Mark one side Colt and one side Windham
They're equal and Windham is aa quality company. With the money you save buy a bunch of standard capacity magazines..

I must disagree. Not in the least. Sorry. I'm a factory certified AR-platform armorer but more importantly have sold AR rifles wholesale to police departments and distributors for years. I deal hands on with AR's for a living. Windham is usually nice but IMHO cannot compare to a Colt, DD, LWRC, or similar top tier gun. Just my opinion.

My usual rule of thumb is that the dancing pony is worth $200 .

In this thread the stated difference is $230 .

If you only have $670, buy the Windham.
If you have $900 , flip that coin.

My choice comes down to what I've shot and what's available at my local gun shop. Overall price needs to be less than $1k.

    Happy to be Here
Colt 6920. Since thats not an option I will add that Windham has great customer service and a lifetime warranty. The true answer is.....

    You need both. :)
